Savoring Life's Little Moments: May 2009

The Blascoe Family went to MN over Memorial Day weekend to visit the Martell Family. Brian is a friend of ours from college. We haven't seen him since our wedding in 2002. He got married right after we had Emma, so we weren't able to go up then. Brian and his wife, Christina, just had a little boy (Landon), so we wanted to take a trip up to visit. We've talked about it for so long, and we finally had the finances to be able to take a little road trip. We hit the road on Saturday morning, but before getting to Brian's house, we met up with Joel and Aaron; the producers of the band's album. I haven't been able to hang out with them, so Ben thought it would be cool to have a quick "get to know you lunch." After visiting for awhile, we were on the road again to see Brian and his family. The rest of the weekend was filled with fishing (on peers and a boat), bonfires, good food, good conversation, and relaxation. We are so glad we were able to spend some time and we're already planning their trip down to Chi-town.

Emma on the ride to MN. You would think she'd sleep longer than an hour both ways, but nope. She was good though, so Ben and I couldn't ask for a better ride. Of course, there were times, and we wished we'd flown, but in the end it was a great road trip.
